Table Rock Lake is located 6 miles west of Branson, Missouri and Branson is home to many theme parks and other attractions.
Most people often wonder whatever happened to those great amusement parks that weren't that large and families could go to and just enjoy being together. There is still one around; Celebration City Theme Park, at Branson, Missouri, which is Missouri's newest theme park.
The park is build around Main Street with many shops, and the style that reminds you of Main Street from your hometown years ago. They do have modern day rides but most everything in the park spells a period out of the 60's, especially the rides for the youngest of the family. The little kids can ride the old-fashioned carousel, Bumble Bee Kiddie Rides and other rides geared to the tiny ones. But this park has not forgotten the adults, with Slick's Bumper Cars, an all wooden roller coaster, and for a blast from the past, a vintage Tilt-a-Whirl. Route 66 in the park features a miniature golf course for everyone in the family to enjoy.
At night, the midway comes alive with barkers inviting you to fun games for everyone. When the family is hungry there are plenty of places to eat; American Diner, a real hand-tossed pizza place and good old American barbeque hangout at Kick's 66 BBQ Grill.
This park is open everyday at 3 pm and after fireworks every night, closes at 10 pm. You can call for further information to 1-800-457-9370.
Another theme park in Branson is the Silver Dollar City Park which takes you back into 1880's America with a complete craft village. The whole park is filled with crafts, thrill rides, and family attractions never losing the 1880's style. One traditional celebration held every year in the park is The Bluegrass and BBQ Festival. The biggest names in Bluegrass music are usually there during the 23 day festival that goes from May 10th thru the 1st of June. And every year there is also an Old Fashion Christmas celebration which begins around the 1st of November every year and ends at the end of December.
The park's hours are different during different times of the year, so you should plan ahead and get further information at 1-800-475-9370. There are great discounts and family packages so be sure to look into these and what they include.
All in all, if it's theme parks you like, Table Rock Lake and Branson, Missouri should be the ideal vacation spot for the whole family, any time of the year.
