Remember Me
Remember me I who have packed my bags
and left the safety of my home
Remember me as you drive to work each day
the life I gave up so you could live free
Remember me as you tuck in your children
and I lay my head upon a stone
you turn off the lights and get into bed
and yet I am here alone.
Remember me as you go about your day
the freedoms you enjoy
while I am in harms way.
Remember me as you close your eyes at night
and tomorrow when you wake
Remember me brave and standing for what's right
I have laid down my life and died with a fight
Brave son's and Daughters
who have so bravely fought and lost
who have paid the ultimate price
of life biggest sacrifice
Though you haven't walked in my shoes
remember if it was not for me you would not walk at all
for in my great sacrifice you are set free
Rember not only me but my family
for I may have paid a price
please thank them for their sacrifice.
Hugs I can not give
I love you's not whispered
children growing up
without me is how you now live.
our red white and blue waving
for the brave son's and daughters
who fought with honor and sacrifice
stories of war and freedom gained by saving
Brave souls you are may you rest in peace
our memories of you we will always keep
pray for my loved ones each night before you sleep
remember me tried and true
would you lay down your life for only those that you knew
all I ask is don't pretend not to see
remember me and never forget what it is to be free.
