How forgiving is your heart?
If a man who's suppose to be your father, but you haven't seen in twenty years
No Christmas cards and all your wasted tears
Crying for a man who couldn't drop a line or send a child support check
Was his life that busy that he could forget?
Did he hate your mother so much?
That he couldn't spend time with you?
So now you go through life wondering if your father truly loves you
How forgiving is your heart?
How forgiving is your heart?
If your mother chooses the wrong road instead of love she shows neglect
As her child you're all alone
Never around when you really need her, what went so wrong in her life?
That she could treat her child like this, like she's sorry for giving you life
If your mother picked her man over you and
He left her alone
When she calls for you to come running, would you be running back home?
How forgiving is your heart?
How forgiving is your heart?
If a man promises to love you and always be a friend but
He mentally abuses you and sometimes with his hands
Running the streets with friends
Leaving you with no time, a happy home should come first, if not you're out of line
Take on all your responsibilities be a real man
Stop having all these women in the streets and making babies too!
Cause; how forgiving would your heart be if your woman did this to you?
How forgiving is your heart?
How forgiving is your heart?
If the woman you love walks on your back
Lies about her were bouts when she's hanging with the girls
Your worst nightmare is another man's rocking her world
She says that she loves you but, her eyes tell you she lies and
Being the strong man that you is you cry on the inside
Sister, if you can't love him please step aside, give me the chance
To give him the love you've denied cause,
How forgiving would your heart be if your man was the one who lied?
How forgiving is your heart?

Forgiveness
Is a coin

Spend it
On your faults
Seen or unseen

I've let go of almost everything I've ever had
Some by choice some by force, either way
All have left, every good and every

So oft' times
Forgiveness is too cumbersome
Too give unto someone
When I cannot forget
When my obsession
Is that of hate
