Table Rock Lake is located in Branson, Missouri with absolute spectacular surroundings for practically every outdoor activity you can think of. This massive lake offers many rivers, such as the Kings River, Long Creek, and White River for canoeing, rafting, and other outdoor activities.
There are far too many outdoor activities offered to list them all so I will cover the most favorite of both the locals and tourists.
Fishing
How can you go to a lake like this and not fish? The fish of choice to catch here is bass, and from what I hear, they are plentiful. The varieties are Large Mouth, Small Mouth, Kentucky, and White Bass. You can also catch Catfish, Bluegills, and Crappie. Once you begin your fishing journey here you will be hooked, so you may want to consider bringing along some supplies for the day.
You are sure to get thirsty and hungry so do not forget your lunch, snacks, and drinks. For hot weather, you will need to bring an ample supply of drinking water.
Sunglasses and sunscreen are necessary for late spring and summer months to protect you from the suns scorching rays. Of course, do not forget your favorite tackle, rods, bait, and a valid fishing license.
The Table Rock Dam created the 800 feet shoreline for Table Rock Lake, is 350 feet high, and dispenses cold water from the bottom of the lake. It then goes into Lake Taneycomo, which offers the best trout fishing. Even if you do not wish to fish, this dam is a great site to see.
Good eats
If you like to eat and you like the water, then you need to take a spin on Big Buoys Floating Cafe. It departs from the Port of Kimberling Marina on the sparkling waters of Table Rock Lake. It has become a tradition for vacationers and locals alike. Their menu is varied from burgers, pizza to Alan's Famous Ribs, and of course ice cold beverages.
Paddle boats
If the motor boats are just not your thing, but you are yearning to get out there on the lake, you may want to try your hand, or feet, at paddle boating. It is a leisurely way of enjoying this beautiful, crystal clear lake while having a blast. Your family will love this activity. Be sure to get those kids in life vests, and yourself for that matter.
Horses, horses, horses
One of the finest ways of enjoying the scenery is to cruise on the back of a tall, cool horse. You will not run out of stables and horses to choose, and the stables have horses for all riding levels. Some even include pony rides for the real little ones.
They do, although usually have a weight limit to save on the horses backs. It usually is no one over 250 pounds or so. You will need to check with the individual stables for their weight limit policy. Some stables have no weight limit.
Trails
There are trails galore to hike on at Table Rock Lake. Take plenty of water and some food. Your whole family will enjoy hiking these gorgeous trails. Take a picnic with you for a very romantic pause.
Golf
This favorite pastime is no different here. This is hands-down, one of the most favorite activities around. There are far too many golf courses to mention, one of which includes Jack Nicklaus's designed resort and signature golf course.
You and your family will enjoy Table Rock Lake in Branson, Missouri so much it will become your vacation destination year after year.
