The vacation plans begin to push to the forefront of everyone's mind. It is that time of year and the need for an escape is beginning to weigh harder and harder on your mind. But what makes you think that the same thing does not happen to your beloved pet? What if vacation this year involved your pet? Scottsdale Arizona is located in the greater Phoenix area and the pet friend activities are more than could ever be imagined.
Goldfield Ghost Town allow your pets not only to be inside the attraction but also to participate with you. GoldField Ghost Town is an authentic 1980s ghost town. Activities range from riding an operating railroad with your pet, to touring the mines, to panning for gold, all the way to waiting a realistic gunfight and even attending a chili cook off. Pets are allowed in all activities except restrictions apply upon letting them enter the gift shop.
If a historical ghost town does not spark you our your pets interest, you should try visiting in October which is when the annual Friends for Life Barktoberfest is in operation in the area. This event is free and of course all animals are more than welcome. The days events include contests, games, raffles, costume and talent competitions for your pets, and even a bath at the end for your pet.
Also in October the Walk To Save The Animals has its annual fund raising event that raises thousands of dollars each year. Not a vacation destination but absolutely a nice and uplifting stop along the way. Vendors and raffles are both present at this stop.
If shopping appeals to you more then outdoor activities Santan Village Shopping Center may be a nice stop for your itinerary. Santan shopping center allows animals in the common areas of the center whether the animals are allowed in the individual stores it is up to the owners and signs are posted. Animals are restricted from entering the food court.
There are also a variety of restaurants that actually allow your animal a spot at the table while you dine along with their own menu so that they can enjoy a home cooked meal as well.
If you do not mind taking a short drive, Petrified Forest National Park is located close by. Animals are allowed in all areas of the National Park. The park features one of the world's largest concentrations of petrified wood. Also included are archaeological sites and displays of fossils. Ancient petroglyph's are also able to be seen from an overlook.
After the excitement for the day ends the big question in do we rent a hotel or a private home or condo? By renting a condo it allows a more private space for both you and your pet to relax after a long day. In hotels you always run the chance that the other animals enjoying their stay are barkers or do not respond well to the new environment. When traveling with pets, private homes and condos are the best way to go.
