Poetry: Halloween

by Tanya Stoklosa

Created on: May 24, 2008

Candy Deep

Under a costume
makeup and hair
The excited child
breathes in the night air

Pumpkin in hand
She swings it along
"Trick or Treat"
Becomes her song

This way and that way
Up and down streets
Door to door
She collects her treats

On this Halloween night
Her pumpkin is filled
Now home to her table
Her pumpkin gets spilled

Sorting and smiling
Thinking "What a big heap!"
This Halloween girl
Is candy deep
