Poetry: Words

Your Voice
Words have the power to heal, to kill or to reveal
When the noise of the world gets so loud that it pierces,
Just one word can bring peace to your inner ear.
The sound of verbal water making waves that are rising and falling against your eardrum, penetrating to the depths of your soul.
Love never sounded or felt so good until your voice was near.
Its nothing special to spend a lot of cash and to create the flashy image of the "good life" but nothing is as priceless as the voice that you long to hear.

The rhythm of your tone and the desire for more that kicks down the door of resistance leaving you defenseless.
Masquerading around like a song is in your head but really it's your words that dance continuously through my mind.

Ringing
Singing
Blinking like flashing lights
I can't tell if it is all real or a video playing with your voice as the happy ending.

Play it again.

Reality hits when the silence begins
It has become too much to bear
The monotonous wait
That yearning that feels worse than pain
No addiction can numb me from longing to hear just one more word.

Say It.

I try to match it with memories and bootleg replacements
I try to mask it with contradictions and counterfeit attractions.
One day the nostalgia will end and a new saga will begin.
All I want to know is ..When?

    Struggling words......

Laying on a back of moss
I am torn to be free,

    Or the man in me?
