Ever feel like you are unable to breathe, or do you ever feel scared for no apparent reason? Well these are just a few of the symptoms that occur when experiencing an anxiety panic attack. The cause of panic attacks are not completely known or understood but are most likely to occur if the person having them has undergone a lot of ongoing stress, such as death of a loved one, financial difficulties, family problems, pregnancy and depression. Hot flashes due to menopause can also sometimes lead to panic attacks. Though symptoms of panic attacks may vary from person to person, they usually include:

Excessive perspiration
Breathlessness
Unexplainable terror
Tightness in chest
Hot or cold flashes
Vomiting
Diarrhea
Dry mouth
Uneasiness
Pounding heart
Tingling
Mental or physical weakness
Confusion
Shakiness
A sense of unreality
Pins and needles

If panic attacks frequently occur for no apparent reason, it leads to a panic disorder, where the person keeps worrying about when their next attack is going to occur. There are currently no laboratory or medical tests that can be taken in order to diagnose a panic attack, but going to your health care provider can be extremely helpful as he will ask you questions in order to relate to your disorder, therefore providing you with the medical information needed, in order to get cured.People suffering from the condition, as well as their families can expect more attacks in future, so medical advice should be sought as soon as possible after an attack has occurred. It is normal for a person to fear more attacks, but if ever in the middle of an attack, they must not lose control and follow the steps given below:

Breathe deeply.
Think realistically.
Think happy thoughts.
Think of all the times you successfully completed the tasks given to you.
Stay in one place.Though you may feel like running away, you should try to remember that there is nothing to run from, and that you are safe.

The above steps may be very hard to follow when experiencing a panic attack but if you are determined and try to be unafraid then they will be easier to follow. However, to completely overcome your panic attacks, it is best to see your doctor or go to www.panicattacks.com.au for a well known and researched program on how to cure your panic attacks or for free help and support go to www.reachout.com.

Public speaking can also trigger panic attacks when you get too nervous or afraid. So if you find that your panic attacks are related to your public speaking then you should visit http://www.directspeech.com.au/publicspeakingandpani cattacks.php for help and also for courses on how to overcome it.

Lastly, nothing is possible without confidence and determination. So if you want to overcome your fear, as long as you keep trying, you can succeed by following just a few steps from your doctor.
