This is about the easiest question in the world to answer. "But" first off, you have to rewrite the question to read "What is the meaning of life"!
Before GOD created the universe he made for Himself angels. The angels were made for one reason and one reason only; To Praise GOD! Since GOD does not live by time (at least not worldly time) the angels were there constantly singing praises to The Almighty GOD. Every second that past, they sang. One thing that did not sit well with GOD was the fact that the angels had to choice in the matter. The angels praised because they were made to praise.
The worship that GOD received from the angels was not from devotion to GOD but from duty to GOD, and so HE decided to give the angels choice.
Lucifer held a high position in the sight of GOD as the head worship leader. On the day that GOD gave angels a will, Lucifer's eyes were opened and he decided that his beauty was worth worshiping and revolted against GOD, by wanting to be "like the most high". In the process of revolting against GOD, he talked one third of the angels to follow him, to praise him and worship him. GOD than created hell and designated Lucifer and his followers to hell.
So then GOD made a plan, HE would replace the fallen angels with "people" made in HIS image, than time began, Gen 1:1 "In the beginning".
The people that God made were given a will, something the angels did not have. People had the choice to accept or deny HIM. With a choice before us, that became the question at hand; "What is the meaning of life". The reason we are on the earth is to worship GOD. Each and everyone of us is here for that definite purpose. Nothing else is required of us, but as with all requirements there are rules that must be followed.
1. We must believe at least the first four words of Genesis 1:1 "In the beginning GOD".
2. We must believe that Jesus Christ died for our transgressions, that he took upon Himself all the sins of the world, by dieing on the cross, that we might have everlasting life, so we can worship GOD willingly. To worship GOD with all of our mind, strength, heart and soul.
There is no other reason to live. You were not put on the earth to see how famous you can be, you were not born to be rich, you were not created to be loved, you were not made to exist for existence sake. No! You were made to worship The Lord your GOD. HE made you male and female, to walk with GOD and talk with GOD, to spend your time with GOD. When you die and go to Heaven, you will have a place there where you will praise and worship your Creator along side other believers who have the love of GOD in them. The only way to get the love of GOD in you is to accept Jesus Christ into your life as your Lord and Saviour. Ask HIM now to come into your life and secure your rightful place in Heaven. Do not wait for tomorrow, tomorrow may not be yours to have. GOD wants a relationship with you, just like the one you have with your loved ones, you talk to them, they talk to you daily, that is what Jesus Christ wants to have with you, a one on one relationship so that your place in Heaven can be prepared and the angels who are in heaven can rejoice in you coming into the Kingdom. That my friend is the meaning of life, why I am here, why I was born! (you too)
