Automatic vehicle location applications to armored truck industry

Several years ago a student at a four-year college in the San Francisco Bay area undertook a research project to justify necessity equipping all armored trucks with an Automatic Vehicle Location (AVL) system in order to improve the level of security and provide management a resource to determine route efficiency.
Several companies were researched and contacted to determine which one would meet or exceed management's requirements for a cost effective AVL. There were Commercial Service Providers that were not chosen since the level of security provided did not meet minimum requirements. Aeris, Incorporated on the other hand, provided a listing of various service providers as an additional resource.

ROM Communications, Incorporated, received the company representative's recommendation to install and provide continued technical support for its vehicle tracking system. A sales representative provided the representative a thorough explanation of how the product functioned.
One may wonder if Information Security is an issue? Usually not. One reason for example, is that the latest version of Microsoft Internet Explorer can encrypt and decrypt confidential information received from a cellular network via the Internet.
In reference to electronic signals received from a GPS, the United States has no intent to ever use Selective Availability again. To ensure that potential adversaries do not use GPS, the military is dedicated to the development and deployment of regional denial capabilities in lieu of global degradation.
The significance of an AVL is that the level of security can can be enhanced where local law enforcement officials can respond to an emergency in record time without notification from the armored carrier manager. Over the last few years there have been fatal incidents where an armored truck crew member was compromised by his own co-worker. Should we dare say that the life of his wife and daughter are severely impacted? There is no question that this issue must be addressed. We must always remember that no one can place a monetary value on human life and the idea of corporate responsibility.
As far as customer service is concerned, the Automatic Vehicle Location system could be adapted where pertinent information recorded on a monetary deposit would be electronically scanned and forwarded to the appropriate cash vault for immediate account crediting. The concept of cash flow today is critical. As consumers, we want immediate access to our funds the moment the deposit is made. The bottom line is that if a business does not satisfy the customer, the customer will go elsewhere.
