The problems faced by Muslim teenagers are no different than those of any other of the worlds teens except for a few exceptions. All teenagers are at the stage in life when not only are they influenced by those around them (peer pressure) but are trying to find their own identity. As with all kids this age it is up to adults, teachers, parents, and clergy, to give a clear and non bias picture of life and present to them the many options, and opportunities that lay before them.
In all religions there are those who distort and pervert the teachings of love and peace to promote their perverted ideologies. Whether it is Christian fundamentalists, radical orthodox Jews, hell bent defiant atheists, or Muslim fundamentalists, there is bad in every religion. The doctrine of theosophy teaches in all religions that many roads lead to the same place. This being heaven. When those who distort these teachings get hold of young minds, in this case that of a teen Muslim child, it is like a sculpture molding a virgin lump of clay into anything they desire. Any thing you want to create is in the hands of the artist. In this case the artist can either teach the true meaning of religion, or push a radical ideology to sculpt hateful, intolerant, little drones who are hell bent on the teachings of hate. This is in fact the most dangerous and perverse challenge a young Muslim, Jew or Christian must face. True religion as stated before, is an acceptance of those who are unlike you. It is a doctrine of humane and humble love of your fellow man. In Isreal the Jew's are taught from day one to hate the Palestinians. In Turn the Palestinians from day one are taught to hate the Jews. This is a vicious and hypocritical distortion of both peoples religion. No where in the bible, or Koran is it stated to hate your fellow man. It is in fact the opposite. Love your fellow man. Teach those who need teaching, help those who are needy, and love those who are unloved. The greatest challenge a Muslim teen will face is how they interpret their religious teachings. Will they become extremist hell bent on the destruction of all those who are different, or will they embrace the true teachings of their religion. It will take a strong will and a true individual to rise above the mess the world is in and strive to better the planet with spirituality and peace. It is a challenge all the worlds teens face, but I am an optimist. I believe in them. God guide them and help heal the hearts of the misguided.
