If an African Safari is something you have always dreamed of going on. Look no further then Disney's Animal Kingdom, Lake Buena Vista, Florida. This is the newest of the four theme parks at Walt Disney World, which opened in 1998. An adventure like no other awaits you and your family. For the ultimate adventure at Disney's Animal Kingdom, reserve your room at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge. Yes, this is a deluxe resort. But, where else can you arise each morning to a couple giraffe hanging around your patio area?

Disney's Animal Kingdom is built on 500 acres. This provides a lot of space for the more than 1,500 animals that roam the kingdom. Mickey and Minnie will get you and your party excited upon entry to the park. They are usually close to the park entrance and are dressed in clothing that is fit for any African Safari. Once you travel through the entrance, you will wander through a tropical path with many different types of ferns, plants, trees, and many unique birds along the way. At the end of this path, the Tree of Life awaits you. This is the focal point of the park. The Tree of Life is art like nothing you have ever seen. There are many animals carved into the large trunk of this tree. Within the trunk is "It's Tough to Be a Bug." This is a 3-D movie with many special effects that will leave you wondering if a bugs life is a good life.

DinoLand U.S.A., themed with dinosaurs of course. Take an adventure on the thrill ride DINOSAUR where you and your party will try to save the last dinosaur on earth. For the youngsters, The Boneyard Gravesite provides an area for kids to run, dig in the sand, climb, and swing through a prehistoric playground. The newest addition to DinoLand U.S.A. is Dino-Rama, a roller coaster that spins around while you ride.

Some truly amazing birds will await you at "Flights of Wonder," a truly exotic bird show. This is a family show, your kids will enjoy this along with you. While in the country of Asai, you may want to take a ride down Kali Rapids, a river raft ride. If you do not want to get wet, this ride will not be for you. Each time I have been on this, I have gotten soaked!

The Kilimanjaro Safari is, in my opinion, the best experience in the whole park. This is something the whole family can enjoy. Everyone boards a large Jeep like vehicle and a tour guide escorts you through the Safari. This does give you a true taste of the vastness of a true African Safari. This is a bumpy ride and the vehicle takes some interesting turns
