Soulja Boy songs are definitely popular right now!
For some reason, people who consider themselves a part of the current "hip-hop culture" seem to be clinging to this Soulja Boy character. He appears in songs such as "Crank Dat Soulja Boy", "Yahhh!" and a number of other theatrical videos. I personally find them hilarious. The argument that exists right now suggests that this is not real music and that it should be banned from radio. Some even suggest that Soulja Boy is merely a YOUTUBE rapper and that his music is made strictly made for a younger immature crowd. Many feel that this kind of music is a contribution to the corruption of hip-hop. Others express their enjoyment for the Soulja Boy music which is why these songs are chart-toppers.
Which side do you take? Do you think Soulja Boy and his "Crank Dat" music is a complete waste of tape? Is Soulja Boy a disgrace to Music Appreciation or can you "Get Silly" to his beats? Inquiring minds want to know!
I personally like the hot new "Lollipop" by Lil' Wayne. I do however hate when artists make a million remixes of an original song, especially when they don't top the original. The remix with Kanye has had an interesting response. It's okay to me.
Some people are quite fond of new hit "Hi Hater" by Manio but others have gone as far as to call it trash.
A hot song right now is called "Lookin' Boy" and if you haven't heard it, you need to log on to Youtube Right now and check it out. It's by Hotstylez.
I'm into "Get Like Me" by David Banner featuring Chris Brown, Jim Jones and Young Joc. The choreography in this video is adorable! Check it out!
"Umma Do Me" is also a big hit on the radio stations and video channels. Big ups to Rocko.
"Boss" by Rick Ross is a club banger.
Neyo has always been on my list of favorite artists but I absolutely love his new single "Closer."
Raheem Devaughn is on that same list and "Customer" is a must have as well.
I also think that the heart-throb Chris Brown's songs are pretty popular too. "No Air" featuring Jordin Sparxx is a Viewers Choice Award nominee on 106th and Park! Congrats to the two of them!
I'm not really much into the other genres of music much, but I am a Creed fan.
As far as R n' B is concerned, Ashanti has a hit right now titled "The Way That I Love You". I love that video! It kind of reminds me of the Beyonce' video "Ring the Alarm".
Also, if you like "Love in This Club" with Usher and Young Jeezy, you must love the remix with Beyonce and Lil' Wayne featured. Lil' Wayne is the man!
Have you guys heard this beautiful song called "Brown Eyed Blues"? Adrian Hood almost brings tears to my eyes as I listen to it. This is a must have on those I-pods!
Well, I hope I haven't offended any artists or fans in this article. I am just reporting what I hear and what I know. Later!
