Humor: What to do when you're sick

"You better call your son's school." the receptionist stammers, "There seems to be some trouble."

"Oh." I reply. I get right on the phone to Jeremiah's school and as usual ask for the principle.

Mr. Lakey answers his line and says, "Now we are not going to charge you with anything because our vice-principle acted inappropriately in the situation. But we had a little situation here about lunch time and you need to discuss with your son about the inappropriateness of this action."

"Oh," I say. "What would that be?" I can't believe this. What is gone wrong now?
Mr. Lakey says, "Evidently your son decided to play a little joke on our vice-principle and it back-fired on him. Jeremiah brought about 20 blood pills used at Halloween and in the movies to school. He walked up to Mrs. Weaver, our vice-principle, who is about a foot shorter than Jeremiah. He had put the blood pills, all of them, into his mouth before approaching her. He walked up to her. Jeremiah said to her with his hand over his mouth, "Mrs. Weaver I just don't feel very well," and bit into the pills. Well those pills are designed to be used maybe one or two at a time. Jeremiah used 20 at once. What looked like blood started pouring out of Jeremiah's mouth quit profusely. Mrs. Weaver, in a state of confusion and complete shock, did the only thing she could think of. She tried to cut off the blood supply. Mrs. Weaver jumped on Jeremiah like a cat on a mouse and started to squeeze."

"Squeeze what?" I asked.

"She squeezed his neck." Mr. Lakey explained. "She was trying to cut off the blood supply, in state of panic you understand. I heard the screaming from the hall and ran out of my office to investigate. When I got to the hall Mrs. Weaver was on top of Jeremiah squeezing his neck, I guess you could say choking him. The students around Jeremiah were all screaming and there was what looked like blood everywhere. It was quit gory and the school nurse called an ambulance which I might add arrived very quickly. Well, anyway, I pulled Mrs. Weaver off of Jeremiah so that I could further investigate. At that time, Jeremiah started to regain consciousness and sat upright. We cleaned him up and are sending him home on the bus. Please Mrs.Roberts, please discuss this with your son and explain the inappropriateness of his actions."

I assured the principle that I would. I apologized profusely and hung up the phone.

At home I pull into the driveway, park and walk into house. Jeremiah is sitting at the kitchen counter looking perplexed.

Jeremiah says, "The last thing I remember Mom is the two sets of girl's feet dancing next to my head before I lost consciousness. Oh, and the screaming from those girls was mind piercing." He guaranteed me there would be no more little pranks at school.
