"Are you guys twins?" I do not know how many times I have heard this question regarding my sister Lizzy, and I. In my eyes, I cannot see how people can think that we look exactly alike. Oftentimes, adults and even kids my own age will mistaken me for her and call me "Elizabeth". Maybe we are similar in our physical appearance, but I know better to think that we are similar in personalities. There are a few similarities shared between the two of us, but they are hugely outweighed by the differences. From my perspective, I am inclined to believe that we are total opposites, in almost everything we do.
I suppose my sister and I are somewhat physically similar, seeing as we share the same parents. We are about the same height, although I am a tiny bit taller. And that is where our physical similarities end, at least how I see it. While I have curly hair, my sister has straight hair. My eyes are big; her eyes are small. She has a square-shaped face, but I have a round, oval face. I am said to look like my mom and my sister like my dad. I can go on and on about our physical differences, yet I can hardly think of any similarities. Honestly, when I look in the mirror, I don't see any similarities, but according to others, we share so many similarities that we can pass for twins.
Personality-wise, Lizzy and I are extremely different. She is more of the studious and hard-working type, while I love to have fun and am not as serious about schoolwork as she is. Sometimes I wish I could be like her and work hard, because it brings on a lot more better results, but it really depends on my mood. I can be very random and reckless, but my sister is almost always composed, calm, and very put-together. That's probably why it's always me doing the regretting and my sister giving me the "I told you so" look. I'm more of the laid-back and weird girl that can be quiet one minute then crazy the next. My sister, on the other hand, is mostly predictable and has better self-control than me. I have to say that she has a bit of a weird side to her also, which makes us a little alike. There are not many similarities in our personalities, which is apparent in the way people often comment on how different we act.
A lot of our extracurricular activities are the same. We both play the violin, the piano, dance, and do many of the same things. Of course, this is because my mom starts us on the same instruments and activities. The approach we take to doing these activities however, can be quite different.
