Some children may have a very hard time dealing with the addition of a sibling. They may fear their parents will love the new baby, more or even forget about them all together. Although this is silly for adults, it is very real for children. Having great books to help children cope and learn what adding a new family member means is a great way for them to accept and love their new sibling. Here are some fun books which can help your children cope with a new sibling.
I'M A BIG SISTER - AUTHOR - JOANNA COLE - ALSO AVAILABLE FROM SAME AUTHOR I'M A BIG BROTHER
From the popular author of the Magic School Bus series, Joanna Cole brings these lovely stories to life. These two books are fun to read and children will love them. With great pictures drawn by Maxie Chambliss, they are two different stories about the changes a family will go through when a new sibling is born.
THE NEW BABY AT YOUR HOUSE - AUTHOR - JOANNA COLE
I love this book with real pictures. It is a fun story about a little girl, Sara, who knows a baby is due any day at her house. She already knows mom will be having a baby any day and we can go through the book with her as she experiences the life changing events. Joanna Cole is an award winning author.
MY NEW BABY - AUTHOR - (NEW BABY SERIES) ILLISTRATED BY ANNE KUBLER
This story is a fun one that shows the whole family helping out with the new arrival. It is a great read for young children with great pictures as well. It shows the reality of having a new baby as it explores real life after baby, like doctor visits, feeding, changing diapers, decorating the baby's room, and more.
BIG SISTER NOW, A STORY ABOUT ME AND OUR NEW BABY - AUTHOR - ANNETTE SHELDON
This book is a fun informative look inside life with a new baby. It shows a young girl go through the process of being a big sister and has beautiful pictures throughout the book. I recommend this story for anyone who has a little girl and is expecting.
THE NEW BABY - AUTHOR - FRED ROGERS
With captivating pictures this story is great for young boys ans girls to understand they will be alright with the addition of a new baby in the family. They will learn they are not the only ones thinking some of the things they are thinking. Children will learn with the help of this book that they are still going to be loved and accepted even though there is a new baby in the family.
