The animal inside of me,
I beat him with the Holy scriptures,
I tell him, "GET BEHIND ME," just as Jesus did,
If I didn't I'd be like some of the animals around me,
All impious and puffed up,
Nothing but worldly stuff,

He often tries to trick me,
Appears as the Angel of Light,
This is what God told me in his word,
I read it for sure, I depend upon no one to tell me,
I read it for myself, I let him speak to me, then I know its true,
You should too,

I once married him, then I saw him for who he was,
I ran crying back to my Father, he forgave me of my sins,
So now when he tries, I just keep my eyes on my Master,
His light is always there beaconing to me,
He lights the path upon which I trod,
I'm headed home, to see my Father,
I assure the animal inside of me will not follow,
There will only be peace, joy, and happiness abiding inside!
