Heart lies on the surgeon's table,
A life who glows within death's stable
Here is Organ Hospital,
where doctors do the impossible
"Diagnostic." growls the Doctor man,
a grumpy-looking, stocky man
The Heart replies,
"I will die
unless you stitch me up inside
When my love was torn from me, this gaping hole began to bleed
and now I fear I'll never heal, and my will is spent, and I long to yield
to death, like a sick Lung stifling breath
I long to yield to death."
Anesthesia! That most holy stuff, that turns our deepest flames to dust
Still there linger a lover's doubts, a lover's memories, warm and stout
"Our times.. together.." Heart clutches old photos and a wrinkled letter
"Give me that!" Doc grabs it fast, "you know your love will never come back."
Doc grabs it fast, "and that's a fact."
Doc leaves shortly and soon brings forth
A special sort of welding torch
It lowers slowly onto Heart, as dancing bursting yellow sparks
shower... Doc wipes the sweat drops off his brow... It has been an hour,
since yellow sparks began to shower.
The waiting room holds blood-bound friends
The bloodless victims fear Heart's end
Liver, Stomach, Lungs and Pharynx
Spleen, Brain, Kidneys, Larynx
Doc opens the door "Heart's fate is sure!
His vitals are stable, he rests on the table
Healthier and stronger than ever before!"
The nurses promptly roll Heart out
Confusion explodes into screams and shouts
"It's a joke!" squishes Spleen, "This is crazy!" Pharynx sings
They see Heart give an icy glare
His visage seems to freeze the air
Doc answers thus: "It's give and take
Emotions Heart can no more make
But a heartless Heart can never break"
The organs sign the check for him, a "necessary evil" for two million
Weep not. Don't you comprehend? Now I'll never be hurt again
I thank Doc for that, and so does my black
Heart of Obsidian

Numb
I wish I couldn't remember,
the things that I will never forget.
Every day I build another wall,
but the past isn't buried
Have we made our children numb?

Have they lost their sensitivity,

Nothing
Nothing to say
Nothing to do
Nothing to want
Nothing to view
Nothing to laugh
Nothing to cry
Nothing to whimper
