Fourth of July independence celebrations across the US

rides, martial arts and defense demonstrations, road races, along with the many arts and crafts booths. Musical entertainment includes a mix of all different types of music, from jazz to rock, from Jimmy Vaughn to the Hartford Symphony. No matter taste, your sure to find it at the Enfield festival!

The mining town of Bisbee, AZ holds a big day of celebration and activities, starting with the Bisbee Coaster Races down Tombstone Canyon. This is the longest gravity-powered race in the U.S. Activities also include the Iron Man Mile, Bisbee's parade, live bands, a timed Mining-Cart race, Bisbee Copper Kings baseball games, and a historic 1890's dead ball baseball game. And as always, the annual grand finale of beautiful fireworks will light up the skies of this down-home country town.

Washington DC boasts with one of the nation's largest fireworks displays held over the reflecting pool on the National Mall. The Smithsonian Festival of American Folklife is interesting and captivating, and be sure to stop in at the National Archives Family Day too. As all across the country, Washington will hold their own giant parade, starting on Constitution Avenue. Don't forget to get a look at the original Declaration Of Independence while there!

New York, NY: The highlight of this event, of course, is the huge Macy's Fourth Of July Fireworks display which can be seen from several points in the city. The festival also includes anything from eating contests, children's games, cruises, and many different concerts. An event you'll not soon forget! Your sure to have a grand fourth of July in the Big Apple.

Hop across the country to San Francisco, CA! This cities' Fourth of July Celebration is held at Pier 39, a very popular tourist complex that holds Fisherman's Wharf, Ghirardelli Square, and the Cannery. Enjoy free entertainment with bands and street performers, face-painting, marionettes, and lots of different kinds of food. Bring the kids, this is an event for the whole family to enjoy!

Moorhead, MN holds it's annual celebration as a day of family-oriented entertainment. Events include the 10K Run and Firecracker Mile, a decorated bike parade, model rocketry, various stage acts and bands, a planetarium show, and an evening patriotic program and fireworks with the 2008 theme of "Not Forgotten". Moorhead is definitely a town proud to be American!

Seward, NE is recognized nationally as America's Small Town 4th of July City. Each year the festival draws over 30,000 spectators, and it has been televised nationally on many different occasions. With cloggers & dancers, clowns, parachutists, holiday lights, a carnival, pet parade, free trolley rides, and their enormous fireworks display, your sure to enjoy this small town's spirit.

Traveling north this 4th of July? Try Seward, AK. Spend your daytime strolling through down-town Main street with all it's vendor booths and many nick-knacks. In the evening view what is noted to be one of the most beautiful fireworks displays over open waters. Don't forget to take in a bit of sightseeing while your there!

Where ever you choose to go this fourth of July, celebrate it with pride... and don't forget to watch the fireworks!
