Who's to blame for the surge in gas prices?

" A government by the people and for the people" "We the people". How often do we here these phrases today? The American public (in times of crises) demands that the government assists and helps the general population regain the social and economic structure of our society. There is no excuse as to why the majority of the American public is being held economically hostage. No longer is the population able to generate industry, commerce, and a lifestyle that produces long term economic growth, national security, and brings prosperity to all. We are a mobile society and our economy is based on the accessibility and affordability of the fuels needed. When a disruption occurs that hinders our ability to obtain the necessary fuel the economy suffers. The more difficult it becomes the greater degree of economic decline. The American public is very much victimized by the oil industry, and our own government. For years the Environmental Protection Agency has thwarted the advancement of cheaper and cleaner abundant alternative fuels. A major factor to consider now for all humanity is the insidious way of wasting food sources to supply combustible fuel. This causes horrific suffering not only in the United States but world-wide. We already have alternative sources of fuel. All we have to do is to start making them more accessible and affordable with-out the inflation we have now. This can be accomplished in several ways simultaneously First; the United States government must step in and mandate an immediate roll back of fuel costs to $2.00 per gallon and $1.50 per gallon of diesel nation wide. At the same time the releasing of the national reserves will ensure an adequate supply is available till more refineries are running. The selling of our oil to Japan has to stop and re-route the oil back to the United States. This will give the oil and auto industries time to produce the necessary alternative fuels for our mobile society. Second; the National Transportation Unions have to unite behind and help the United States Government and the American public with a smooth transition to alternative fuel. The transfer from gas and diesel fuel is going to take a real united effort That will require the participation of all citizens, but to do nothing and let the spiral of inflation of fuel costs remain unchanged will bring about a catastrophe so horrific that the future of not only the United States is at stake but the planet's. We have to take action now.
