Resisting the tendency toward revenge

Fight fire with _. Fill in the blank.

Did you say "fire?"

You are wrong. (Sorry)

Fire doesn't put out fire. Water does. So do soap bubbles and other things, but generally, more fire only adds to the ferocity of the fire, and only destroys your house faster.

In general, I think that we need to examine what we listen to and what we learn, and make a real decision before we ingest what the world teaches us.

Who do you think came up with such excellent advice as fighting fire with fire? Heaven, or ...elsewhere?

Sometimes I look back upon all I have absorbed over my lifetime and it's amazing that I have any positivity at all. Abandonment, abuse, the death of loved ones, the loss of income...what a blessing it is to be able to shed even just a little bit of it, to walk away from the things that don't really serve or empower me, but somehow try to seduce me into believing they do.

Retaliation never earned anyone a more peaceful life. If "an eye for an eye" is a part of your lifestyle, maybe it's time to change.
