How many times have you thought to yourself, "Tonight I am going to go to the gym/Swimming/running" and then realized that your favorite T.V. program was on, so decided to sit in front of the T.V. instead?
Well here's your answer...The T.V. Workout!
It's a simple and fun way to bring in a bit of exercise into your daily routine.
All you need to do is think of your favorite T.V. program, then think of four places that appear on that show regularly (e.g. The Living room, The Bar, The coffee House, The bedroom) Write these down on a bit of paper and label them one to four, Next think of three things that regularly happen on the program (e.g. an argument between 2 certain people, people driving in a car, Someone at work) Label these ones five to seven. next think of three words/phrases that are often said in the program e.g. (D'oh, New York, I'll have a coffee to go) Label these eight to ten. Every time that any of these things appear on your program do the following exercises!
Who could have thought an all-rounded workout could be so much fun!
1. (A Place) do a squat for the the duration of that place being on screen. ( Stand with your feet hip width apart, and bend your knees, if you can't feeling it working bend you knees further!)
2. (A Place) Hold yourself in the plank position for the duration of that place being on screen, (Lye on your front and push yourself up to so your arms are straight, make sure you do not arch your back)
3. (A place) Clench you stomach muscles for the duration being on the screen (Remember to keep your back straight)
4. (A place) Jog on the spot for the duration of that place being on screen.
5. (Something that happens often) Do ten sit ups. (Lye on your back with your knees bent, and bring your self up to a seated position without using your arms)
6. (Something that happens often) Do twenty star jumps, Start with your feet together and your hands by your side, and Jump up moving your legs and arms out, so you look like a star!)
7. (Something that happens often) Find a weight (could be anything, even a bag of sugar!) and hold it out in front of you keeping your arms straight for 30 seconds
8. (A catchphrase) Stand with your feet together, and then raise one leg, keeping it straight, hold it for 30 seconds.
9. (A catchphrase) Clench your buttocks 20 times
10. (A Catchphrase) Punch each arm out, (as though aiming for your boss!) 20 times.
WARNING:
1. Make sure you do a warm-up before starting.
2. If an exercise hurts too much stop
3. If you haven't done any exercise before hold it for less time than the above says, and build up your strength before moving onto holding it for too long, e.g. if it says hold for 30 seconds, only hold it for ten seconds.
4. Make sure you have some water nearby in case you get thirsty!
