In the Grounds
in the grounds, a story
my thick and boggy past
she unrolls my history
spits forth my life
tracing henna over
veins, bright orange on white
she-toothless, smiling
passing sugared tea
fat with mint leaves
gummy grin in the
firelight-i am a
giant shadow flickering
over dunes and she draws
my path in the sand-
a camel-track
to the oasis-
she says i can rest
now i've found you
