Let's face it, we all need our personal space in life, and this includes the youngsters in our lives. As parents and grandparents we can help create that space for them in their own bedroom.

Young girls and pre-teens are into the pop star, idol type thing. The biggest on the list would probably be "Hannah Montana" one of Disney's young pop stars. You can be creative and end up with a really cool room.

To decorate the total room could get quite pricey. If you shop around, chances are you can find some good deals. Items can be found from The Disney Store to Wall Mart, even over Internet. Do a little price research first.

The decorative print for this line of decor is loud, and bright in colors with large shapes. Going with white colored wall paint and a neutral carpet would keep things calm enough that the child could concentrate to do homework, read, or just relax.

Hannah Montana self stick room appliques, and stickers work great for creating a wall paper type border around the room. Different retailers supply different quantities and prices vary. Among the list would be posters, which are nice framed. There are clocks, and picture frames. There is even a Decal Wall Clock that operates with two AA batteries; it is removable, and reusable.

There are a couple different styles of bedding, and a patchwork quilt that is available. The sheet and comforter sizes range from twin size to queen size. You can add an extra pillow or two by purchasing extra pillow cases. Going with a solid color that is in the design adds more flash to the room or you can make a few of your own.

There are curtain panels and window valances to match the decor as well. Again you could purchase plain colors to match.

Create a nice reading or relaxing area with curtains. You would need to take one corner of the room and place an expendable curtain rod from side to side across the corner. Place a valance and some curtain panels to create a wall/door. Use big comfortable pillows to lie on the floor. A great little spot for relaxing, reading, journal keeping, listening to music, or chatting on the phone.

You could also use the appliques, and stickers to decorate furniture like the headboard, nightstand, dresser, book shelf.

There are so many accessories available to put a finishing touch to the room. Lamps include cylinder, table, and die-cut. There are a couple of chairs on the market, one being a bentwood Scandinavian-style chair. Look around for pillows; there is even a secret diary pillow that comes with a built-in MP3 speaker.

There is a Home Decor in a Box available that includes three shelves, two fabric storage bins, hanging mirror and an erasable white board.
