Finding paid work from home

Finding paid work from home can be challenging as well as rewarding. More and more individual just like you and me are trying to get into this band wagon. All of us may have a very solid reason for choosing this path.

Reason may be, financial, health, or just tired of being "The Boss Punching Bag". There are millions of websites and programs promising you riches. But lets be realistic. Do you really believe it? A course not!

Now, if you want to really work at home, get a steady weekly or bi-weekly pay check, and have what it takes, then you are ready.

Let's start with the basic:

Your New Home Office or Work Space

1- You will need a good computer or laptop.
Must companies are looking for these operating systems, Windows XP or better.
Don't use your kids computer. Most companies require you to download their program and you don't want your kids to get in them. Beside within 1 or 2 paycheck that new computer has paid for it self. Make sure you have plenty of Ram and a good large hard drive and a decent monitor screen, and a good printer.

2- You will need a quite place to work.
Please remember you might be there for 6 to 8 hours per day, so make it comfortable.
Get a good desk, comfortable chair, and a good reading lamp.

3- Be realistic about your time frame.
Don't agree to work at certain time and not show up. These companies are counting on you.

4- You must have a separate phone line.
Companies required you to have a basic phone system, corded phone, a good noise reduction head set,no voice mail,no call waiting,no call forwarding, no caller ID, and you might need to add a good long distance service package as well.

5- Be prepared to make a small investment.
Some companies will required you to pay between $30 to $50 for your Background Check and Credit Check as well. These fees are non-refundable and usually are asked at the final stage of the hiring process.

6- Be prepared to send your resume and references.
This is a real job, these company need to know your work history, they want to know if you have any experience ,and most of all, they want to make sure you are not a lunatic.

7- Have a separate e-mail address.
Your email address that you currently use may be cute for your family and friend(ex, hotchick69@whatever.com)Howeve r, remember this is how these companies will be communicating with you thru out your application process, hiring process, and training process, and work process. There are plenty of free email sites out there so get one, that it separate you from work and play.

With all this said and done. You are ready to look for work.

On my next article, I will be discussing the time frame, what to expect and where to apply.
