Some supporters of Obama say he did not empathize with or relate to the teachings of Black Liberation and Rev. Wright. It was simply necessary for him to be a part of that church and even associate with the likes of Bill Ayers because that was and is the political environment of Chicago. That would of course make Obama a political opportunist and a pretender, which is one of the main things he rails against...disingenuous politicians. Obama says don't judge me
by my associations, yet he ties McCain to Bush every chance he gets.
However, there may be a far more deeper reason than political opportunism that led Obama to go to Rev. Wright's church for 20 years, and that is the tone of the doctrine. Remember, Obama in his formative years, was immersed in Islam, not Christianity. There is one thing both Islam and this form of Black Liberation Christianity have very much in common...
It is the Ideology of grievance and vague complaints. The Koran is filled with grievance against the Unbelievers and Rev. Wright's diatribes are filled with grievance. Obama's wife's speeches are filled with grievance. After all, this Princeton educated millionaire said she's never been proud of her country until her husband's campaign blew up.
In light of this common denominator that Reverend Wright's Church and Islam share, it should not be surprising that Rev. Wright gave a lifetime achievement award to Louis Farrakhan the leader of "The Nation Of Islam". After all, Farrakhan is probably the greatest grievance monger
of Black America. He puts Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton to shame. He is much deserving of Wright's affections, so much so they went on a honeymoon together to visit Colonel Kaddafi in Libya.
Obama says Rev. Wright led him to Christ. The question is, could a pastor without an ideology of grievance have led Obama to Christ? Would Obama have resonated which such a person?
If it takes a person like Rev. Wright to bring Obama to Christ, then what does Obama think Christ is, and what does Obama think Christ wants of him? Especially, if he were in the White House.
It's no coincidence that, just as Obama worked with unrepentant, terrorist bomber Bill Ayers, he now would like to have an open, unconditional dialogue with grievance monger extraordinaire, Ahmadinejad. This is a perfect example of how his mindset effects his judgment.
Obama recently said something to the effect of- We talked to the Soviet Union so why not Iran.
Well, for one, if you talk to Ahmadinejad you give him the one thing he wants most, that is TIME. The Soviets already had Nukes, they didn't need time to stall us until they got their WMD together.
Secondly, unlike Iran, they were a super power and not isolated. We did not raise the Soviet Union's status by talking to them.
Third, The Soviets were not actively engaged in killing U.S. soldiers like Iran is doing in Iraq, as well as actively attacking our allies like Iran's proxies, Hamas and Hezbollah, are attacking Israel.
Obama's inability to see those 3 things may stem from the same place where his inability to see the flaws of the people he chooses to befriend, work with, and guide him, comes from.
