Poetry: Arachnophobia

by Waldo News

Created on: May 21, 2008

Eight-Legged Haiku

Tiny black spider
Deadly, blood-red hourglass
Tangled web like steel

Little brown fiddler
Ambush is set in my shoes
Toes swollen purple

One web, many eggs
Hatchlings skitter like soldiers
Deploying to pounce

Monster grows hungry
Grows bored of watching the web
Eyes sleeper in bed

Eight hairy strong legs
Squeeze tightly, holding prey firm
Mandibles dripping
