What is more perfect for the Fourth of July than to host your very own barbecue? Nothing. Okay, somethings, but when it comes to the Fourth of July a barbecue is a must and if you're the host or hostess you may want some tips on making it an unforgettable meal and more. Its not easy to cater to several different people's tastes. So read on barbecuers, read on.

The first item to check off your list is food, of course. You should already have a good idea of who will be attending and therefore should understand they all have different tastes. Make sure you have something for everyone: the meat lover, the vegetarian and those who prefer lighter foods like chicken and salad.

Make sure there is a main dish for everyone to enjoy, several appetizers and don't forget the dessert or they may not return the next year. Pork and chicken are great with grilled hearty veggies like cherry tomatoes, potatoes and peppers. Stuffed mushrooms are tasty, but light enough to leave room for dessert.

For Fourth of July barbecue desserts there is pudding, apple pie, ice cream, Popsicles, cookies and so much more. For a lighter version of dessert you may consider going for mixed berries or fruit on low fat yogurt or mixed into a smoothie.

Now its time to set a nice table and welcome your guests. Once your food list is made and bought and cooked up, its time to just sit back and enjoy the company of your friends, the good food you worked hard to cook up and some spectacular Fourth of July fireworks! Enjoy!
