How to avoid Internet scams

you are going to get what you have paid for. I believe as a general rule to be extremely careful when someone suggest that paying money up front will make significantly more in return. While it is possible, the reality is you are more likely than not gambling and the risk is extremely high that you will loose your investment.

- Take your time and check out the source. I am no different from you in that I am always open to an opportunity to make money and enjoy life yet my search for a legitimate and successful way of doing this continues. So far, working hard at my job while saving and wisely investing seem the only effective method. Naturally a lottery win would be enormously helpful but I am not basing my investment and savings strategy on that particular windfall.

Nobody is totally scam-proof but you can avoid the obvious by paying attention to what is going on around you. Do not believe everything you read and definitely do not take any offer of easy and fast cash seriously. Protect yourself by any means possible. I have set up a separate account for Internet purchases so that if I am unfortunate enough to strike someone unscrupulous, my main savings and working accounts are not at risk.

The references below are a small selection of sites I recomment through which you can see for yourself how many Internet scams and rip-offs are stealing from people. Irrespective of any advice or suggestions offered above, or from these reference sites, do not let the promise of easy money or a high return blind you to the risk you are getting yourself into. I love saying this, so I will say it once more:

If an offer sounds too good to be true, you can be sure it is!.

Look for my next submission on e-mail hoaxes and urban legends. I propose to dismantle a selection of very convincing virus warnings and other hoaxes frequently circulated as chain letters. I hope by doing this, I can contribute in some small way and counter some of the useless and meaningless e-mail traffic designed to fool us all.
