Midnight strikes,
Making my fear in my heart grow,
I hear footsteps in the lonely halls,
No one alive,
This is.
The footsteps are coming closer,
But I can't seem to move.
I want to scream at my body and force it to move,
However it doesn't listen.
I hear humming as if it was simply having a stroll,
My heart beat increases,
I can feel my pulse in my ears.
A strange feeling passes over me,
I can't move,
I can't scream for help as I am alone,
I can't hope to survive,
The feeling I realized is fear.
I feel the footsteps stop behind me,
Hands are laid on my shoulders,
I bite back a whimper as hot breath is felt on my neck.
I winced as I feel it's lips at my throat,
I close my eyes,
Waiting for that fatal strike,
But it doesn't come.
I am turned around to see my attacker,
I am surprised to see that he is a handsome man,
He lays his hands on my neck,
Whispering,
"I am sorry".
Before I respond,
He snaps my neck.
I wasn't expecting that,
But I wonder why he killed me quickly,
Not painfully.
Perhaps to save me from the possible torture by others of his kind.
Whatever his reasons,
I am spared,
But he doesn't leave my body there,
He carried it to his room and lays it down,
Lighting a match,
My body becomes engulfed by flames,
The fire spreads to the man and the room,
He is soon reduced to ash as am I.
He's a strange one,
But he didn't die alone at least.
