Grandparents parenting grandchildren

We take for granted that our kids will lead productive lives. The fact that we have raised our kids to become responsible adults, often eludes our understanding. The unexpected pregnancy and the absence of a father in the young one's life, take precedence to ensure that the child has some type of a normal life.

Circumstances such as this have often found the grand parent filling in as the male figure in the child's life. It is most important that any child regardless of the circumstance have a male role model in their life. To shape and mold and love and cherish the child for who they are and will become later in life.

The child did not ask to be brought in to this world. The parents of the children may have been compatible to conceive the child but the parenting of the child has suffered neglect. Whether the parents are to young to handle the responsibility, or the father wants nothing to do with being a father. It is left to the grand parent to make the child's life a little less confusing.

Every child deserves a chance at a normal life. The problems that arise during single parenting can be overwhelming at times. The new mother finds that she no longer has a social life and all her attention must be to the child. It is a tough job and not to be taken lightly by any new mother out there trying to do what is right for her child.

Mistakes happen and only God knows why. The blood line of any family, knows that you must embrace the new child as your own. This is a normal trait that is in every one. To give the child a chance in life, that they might not have in many other circumstances. It is a part of the nurturing process.

Grand parents take on the responsibility as assisting care giver to help their own child out, as she provides for her self and child. Grand parents take on the role as disciplinary, to the child's behavioral traits through out it's life. The child will come to know the difference between right and wrong, by assisted parenting. This is a normal nurturing aspect to the child's development and is very important that it be implemented through out their life.

In normal circumstances where the child has the luxury of having both parents active in their life, will still need the disciplinary assistance through out the parenting phase of the child's development. You can give the child all the love and nurturing you want but with out the discipline to balance out the child's behavior, you will find your not very efficient to the child.

Grand parents love their grand kid's and want them to have an enriching life a head of them. Just like the parents that gave their own children choices through out their developmental early years, we still find ourselves making mistakes. This is the human aspect to parenting our grand children. The difference is, now we are veterans of child parenting and wisdom is a valuable tool to have in any child's life.
