It would be amusing for me to criticize George W. Bush, but if I think to the damage and mess that the policy of his administration has created in his 8 years as the President of the United States, I amuse myself much less.
Bush was the son of a family of rich Texan oil producers, but he wasn't very gifted as a manager and he had a scarce culture about economics, politics and even English language; in fact, his various experiences as company manager have all been a failure.
It's enough to read his deep analysis of the causes of the deep financial and economic crisis of 2008 to understand his philosophy on economy:
"Let's make sure that there is certainty during uncertain times in our economy"
"We got plenty of money in Washington. What we need is more priority"
(Washington, D.C., June 2nd, 2008)
My compliments, 2 stupid sentences in the same day!
"There's no question about it. Wall Street got drunk ... That's one of the reasons I asked you to turn off the TV cameras... It got drunk and now it's got a hangover. The question is how long will it sober up and not try to do all these fancy financial instruments".
(speaking at a private fundraiser at Houston, Texas, July 18th, 2008).
In fact, about the deep Bush's culture on alcoholism and hangovers, nobody of us has any doubt...

"I think war is a dangerous place" (Washington D.C., May 7th, 2003)
In any case, his concern for the 4200 American young women and men dead in Iraq was really deep:
"I don't want some mom whose son may have recently died to see the commander in chief playing golf. I feel I owe it to the families to be in solidarity as best as I can with them. And I think playing golf during a war just sends the wrong signal"
(Washington, D.C., May 13th, 2008).
But hadn't the war in Iraq already victoriously ended in April 2003?
His history is that of the winning and lucky mediocrity, flavoured by his politic ideas and links with the US powerful oil companies and other industrial interests, the most conservative and reactionary Christian movements, among which, the anti-abortion groups.
What is grotesque, is that he reached in becoming President of the United States not only the first, but even
