Assessing Bush's politics after the November 2006 congressional elections

The current Iraq fiasco and President's Bush's refusal to admit his great blunder is proof positive that no one man, no matter how well-intention, or what his real motives may be, should have the authority to place so many American lives in jeopardy or even in harm's way - especially a man who resides in a permanent state of denial. Congress is much better suited and qualified than a man who never once saw a battlefield or sent any of his own children or relatives to fight for our country.

In restrospect, one man's rush to war has caused over 3,000 Americans their lives, more than 20,000 are crippled for life, and the poor Iraqi people who had NOTHING to do with 911, were subjected to five years of death, destruction, misery, and brutal imposition. Over a 100,000 Iraqi civilians including more than 5,000 children were killed by our "shock and awe" invasion and for what? Since there were no weapons of mass destruction, and Saddam was removed three years ago, the answer now becomes obvious - oil. It is no secret that the oil industry financed three generation of Bush family politics and favors have to be repaid. One man has chosen the currency of repayment (human lives) and this is not only immoral, shameful, and unethical, but criminal.

It has become increasingly clear that as the self-proclaimed "decider", King George cares little if anything what study groups, the UN, members of Congress, CIA analysts, veteran military brass, the public, or his own advisers think. Apparently his pride is more important and he is willing to protect and preserve his pride with even more death and destruction - at our expense no less.

As a former Fortune 500 executive, I could just imagine what would happen to a CEO who snubs his shareholders and ignores his board of directors. It should be no different with our President and it all comes down to one basic constitional issue... Do elected official serve OUR will or do they somehow believe that we gave them carte blanche to determine it for us? Long before all the special interest groups moved to the Washington suburbs with their millions, public referendums used to be held and the pols actually listened to "We The People". Those days needs to return quick and we can start by repealling the War Powers Act, which as we just saw with President Bush, is too easy to abuse, with the most grave and costly consequences. We cannot entrust the lives of our children into the hands of rogue cowboy who himself dodged the draft.

If President Bush cannot be decent enough to admit his mistakes and make immediate ammends, its time for him to go via resignation or impeachment, before any further loss of life needlessly occurs. I cannot think of a worse situation for our nation than to be led by anyone who ignores reality and relies on spin masters to keep him afloat. Let's be real - It was his lack of wisdom, knowledge and ethics that got us into Iraq in the first place and resolving this bloody mess should start with an immediate regimne change. Anything less will just add insult to the injury imposed on the world through his arrogance. A democracy imposed is anything but.
