The Written Word
I fear the written word is dieing
and in its place will be a visual art
that the lazy masses can cast their eyes upon
within seconds to grasp, yet lose,
the images of the real truths
that blind our society behind mask
of self proclaimed power and piety
while the innocent babies cry out in the crisp night
as the torments of hunger tear through their forgotten soul
within a country that dwells too much
beyond their borders to care
about the impoverished mother
that begs her child to stop
the endless moans of the destiny
that began before insemination.
