Poetry: Inspirational

by J. Forbes

Created on: May 20, 2008

If I knew how to write a poem
I know that it would be great.

It's too bad that few have the gift
That allows them to truly appease.

I think its time for a revolution,
Stage a mutiny against the classic.

Construct a new breed of poetry,
One that uses criticism to grow.

Into something entirely unique,
That leaves its reader asking why.

Questions dart through your brain,
Storm ideas as I continue to write.

Wait to hear disapproval eagerly,
Hoping he's listening keenly.

For anything that doesn't fit,
Into what is supposed to be a poem.

It's such a shame he'll never know,
That what I am building is just that.
