On Gangs: Is there a point?
Does it make sense to shorten your life? To risk physical harm for a color whether Red or Blue? Is it about a family on the lack of one with your birth parents?
So many questions, in the answer would you find the why? The integral reason for the risk, this shortening of life for a color? For a glorified lie, is such a thing worth your life, for putting your family and friends at risk because someone else wears a different color, claims a different set, is reality that black and white? Or is it simply a choice not to see the gray, to experience the full spectrum of color?
The world has opened up with the internet, why do you still choose to close your mind to the possibilities? Why narrow your vision, when so many things are possible beyond red or blue. Beyond limited sets, beyond a shortened life because someone wears a different color, beyond the death, the drugs and the inevitable violence in living life as a gang member.
We each have so much potential, do not limit yourself, realize the world can be an amazing place, to experience, to live. Not having to look over your shoulder, wondering if you will see tomorrow because you do not know if this will be your last night because of a color. Live a healthy life, to not be in fear in each waking moment, unsure about tomorrow for a claim to a color or an area. Is a color worth dying for? Is a set more important then your own self preservation?
Consider if you die for a color, for a set, there are twenty others wanting your spot, wanting to make the same mistake, to consider a color to be more important then living to see another day. Stop the cycle, the choice is yours to make, are you ready to make a change? Make that quality decision, and begin to experience life for the blessing it is. To enjoy each day without fair not wondering if you will see tommorow but instead to experience tommorow for yourself.
Certainly the most difficult step is the first one, once you take that step the rest of the journey becomes far easier, not to say it will be smooth sailing, to know that with change comes many ascents and descents, as a journey to change is never an easy one. To take that first step to consciously make that choice, to began the action in tune with the words. Just put one foot in front of the other, start stepping to progress beyond what you have thus far been fortunate to survive through.
You are worth more then a color, more then a set, realize facts and progress, gang life is not life
