Poetry: In God's hands

by Nancy Cogar

Through pearly gates and down gold streets, you run

Pushing through many, to get to God's Son

Through tears and laughter, you fall at his feet

Overwhelming joy, face to face you finally meet.

The Lord smiles and assures you of his best

It was time to come home, forever to rest

Your soul with him, forever now free

I think of the wonders, Your eye's can now see

Your pain on earth, forever gone

Another heart singing, In heaven a song

So much of the family, left behind

As you walk through heaven, Do we come to mind?

For you stand now, beholding your King

Joined with millions, you praise and joyfully sing

In the rooms of glory, an awesome sight

Another one singing and immersed in his light

For now you stand at his throne of grace

And with your eye's, you behold God's face.

So much of the family, left behind

So many lost loved ones, for the Lord to still find.

For the Lord made hearts, to search and roam

And it broke my heart, when Jesus took you home.

Sometimes I think your life here, was brief

But now in heaven, the sweetest relief.

I will see you again, at the Lord's supper table

An empty seat is near you, in the mist of Jeremiah,Joshua, Joseph and Able.

The wonders you see, As the Lord and you walk

Remember the family, when you privately talk

For my loved one walks, with Jesus on streets made of gold.

A nail pierced hand, is the hand you  now hold

There will be tears in my eyes, once again when we meet

At pearly gates you stand, anxiously waiting to greet
