Love is a gift, and as a gift, the elements of “sharing it freely” and “receiving it freely” must exist. If love is not freely shared or not freely received, then it’s a fake kind of love.
There are countless ways of doing sharing a love, and the ultimate human way of expressing it is by saying I love you. There are six simple reasons why is it important to say I love you.
It’s important to say I love you to express the feeling of love. In fact, there is no other way expressing it in words than to say I love you.
It’s important to say I love you to make the relationship intimately personal. Love is the unifying factor and the saving factor of every relationship, because if there’s no love, there’s no reason why lovers should stay together.
It’s important to say I love you to keep the relationship going, but always be mindful of the danger of going mechanical. It is true that constant exchange of “I love you” sometimes develops into a mechanical exchange of meaningless words. Saying I love you is expressing, not only the feeling of love, but the duty to say it that even if the feeling of love is shadowed by unnecessary forces, love for whatever reasons must be alive.
It’s important to say I love you to make each other feel very important and loved. “I love you” is a powerful and yet priceless statement given only to the person dearest to our hearts. It may appear selfish, but this is the very essence of love: powerful, priceless and yet very personal.
It’s important to say I love you to emphasize that of the countless hearts wandering around the world looking for and hungry of love, there must be someone and only one out there who is worth loving to the end. To say “I love you” is to make the person feel very special despite life’s ordinary appearance.
Finally, it’s important to say I love you simply because loving is unique to human beings. No creature on earth can say “I love you,” except the human heart.
I am just so privileged enough to be given a chance to say “I love you” to the person dearest to me and I will say it again and again for the rest of my life.
