I have been watching American Idol for four years now, and I must say,this year has been one of the most intense for me yet.
Narrowed down to just two contestants,David Cook and David Archuleta, the competition is getting hot.
If I had to pick between Archuleta and Cook on who should win, I would pick, against the opinions of countless people that I know, David Cook.

David Cook was born in Houston, Texas but grew up in Blue Springs, Missouri. He received his first guitar when he was two years old, giving him his interest in music.

David was in the band Axium from 1999 to 2006. He was the lead singer and guitarist, and his friend Bobby Kerr was the drummer. They formed the band in David's third year of high school.

After Axium broke up in 2006, Cook joined the regional touring band, Midwest kings. David moved on to release his own solo independent album, Analog Heart. It was deemed one of the best albums released in 2006, by website Music Equals Life. David has thus far recorded 6 albums. With Axium he released Matter of Time, Blindsided, Alive in Tulsa, The Story Thus Far. With Midwest Kings he recorded an EP:Incoherent with Desire to Move On. As mentioned before, he released Analog Heart as a soloist.

David has had to cope with many problems, like his brother Adam going through cancer and a few health problems of his own. On April 1st, 2008, his "heart was palpitating at a high rate and his blood pressure was high."-TMZ.com. Later he was deemed fine, although before the show that was being aired that evening, he had refused to go to the hospital.

In American Idol, attracting voters was not an issue for David Cook. This extremely talented young man has done very well in the competition, advancing as safe every week. He now is preparing for the big finale, and quite a few people want him to win, myself included. The rocker knows how to do his thing. He isn't daunted by the competition, but he sways as the wind blows. He doesn't break. He keeps going, giving an outstanding performance every single week.
