"Our next assignment awaits. This one will test your abilities." The old man said, "its about time." Zane replied coolly. "This new assignment,Abel, what is it?" Zane asked the man beside him. "We are, by order of the clan-guild, to kill a giant many others have tired to kill but failed." Abel answered him calmly, clearly not afraid of any beast or man. Must be tough Zane thought to himself,"How many before us have tired?", Zane had to ask.
Instead Abel laughed, "You'll find out soon enough my boy." Abel patted Zane on the shoulder, and left to tend to his horse. The clan-guild must be crazy, Zane said to himself, how can two people take down a giant?"Typical of the clan-guild..."Zane said aloud. The clan-guild is half clan half guild, you must be born into the clan in order to join the guild. A clan of assassins found themselves out of work during the great war. The clan went to towns, villages, palaces and castles to find assignments. Over time, word spread of these assassins who would take any job for almost any price. Abel answered him.
"Okay" he said,"By the way, where is the town we are to go?" he asked. "5 days hard ride, 10 easy." Abel responded. "We hard then.", Zane said.
After riding hard for 5 days, the two assassins reached the town where the giant lurked. Zane looked at the town and saw the town in shambles; houses were destroyed, some completely ripped from the earth herself. "By the gods." Zane breathed, unable to say anything else. The townspeople wore rags for clothes, the infants wore nothing at all. As they approached the townspeople, they looked even worse in person then afar. Their faces were gaunt, pale, and their eyes were drained of any life or energy. "I'm off to gather information regarding the giant, watch the horses." Abel said, as he walked into a gathering crowd.
Zane took hold of Abel's rein and reined the horse a Little closer to him. Zane patted the horse between the ears for some reassurance, for Zane that is. Zane was
