Is the Bible trustworthy?

I believe in truth, Truth, and absolute truths. That being said, I say, vehemently, that the Holy Bible is absolutely trustworthy! Consider this:

Then Jesus said to those Jews, who believed in him: If you continue in my word, you shall be my disciples indeed. And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free."
-John 8:31-32

True freedom, wisdom and truth can only be found in Christ. Those who follow his teachings are his true disciples. Those teachings are found in the Holy Bible.

Now, let us realize that simply because the writings in the bible are trustworthy, so what? What does that mean personally? What good comes from knowing truth if we gain nothing from the knowledge?

"Search the scriptures, for you think in them to have life everlasting; and the same are they that give testimony of me. And you will not come to me that you may have life."
-John 5:39-40

Here, Christ teaches us a very important truth. Sometimes it is tempting to follow the "rules" of the Bible and give hollow testimony to Christ to try to get salvation. But, if a person is not honest and truthful with themselves and Christ, how can true faith be borne? Hollow faith, shallow testimony, and superfluous biblical study can save no one.

We are saved by Jesus' redeptive love, His sacrifice, made on our behalf and told over and over in the bible. Accepting the gift of life and salvation is the AIM, the truth on finding that is CONTAINED in the bible.

Our miniscule minds (even the greatest minds among people are but folly and silliness compared to God!) cannot fathom the greatness, the awesomeness, the power and majesty of God Almighty1 But, we have hope and love and comfort found in the Holy Bible, which is the truest guide book for LIFe that there ever was. Our belief in the Bible and its teachings can be taken in absolute trust!

"There is a way that seems right to a man, but in the end, it leads to destruction."
Proverbs 16:25

God's way, His teachings, when we sincerely seek Him, will not lead us down a path of destruction, but, rather to everlasting truth and life. Our own misguided thoughts, no matter how altruistic our motivation, can only lead to destruction if we take the Lord out of the process.
