A Father Forever
As I come to you in childlike faith, Lord
Until I can walk be the arms that carry me.
Then as I take my first steps & start to fall
Be the hands that hold me steady.
As I begin to run, keep pace beside me
Encourage me when I slack.
As my feet become sure, my eyes toward the prize
Keep me from stumbling or looking back.
When my spirit takes flight and my heart takes wing
Be the wind that makes me soar.
Take all the glory, have all the honor
But Lord I ask one thing more.
When it's all over and darkness threatens
Fears consume and I'm all alone
Once again be the arms that carry me
Until I make it home.
