Poetry: Suicidal thoughts

by Elise Warren

Created on: May 18, 2008

Pretend it is comfortable.
think of the prize,
if you ignore the obvious.
and keep telling lies.

The reward being sanity,
imagine it all.
The assemblance of normal,
before a big fall...

Fake the smile,
and show up for life,
while your head is open,
thoughts turn to strife.

Cast a shadow,
dark on the earth,
the blackness embodied,
that is felt since birth.

Look in the mirror,
the demons survive,
only you can see them,
and they'll eat you alive.
