I found her over a social network on the Internet. She seemed to be all that I needed in this lonely world of mine. We met finally in person about three weeks later, just after the moon had reached it fullness. It was a case of lust at first sight and she was moved into my apartment with her clothes, laptop and her Guns N Roses CD's.
One evening when I returned from work I found her not there. She had left a note under the Chinese take-out she had left for my supper, stating that she had gone to visit her mother and as it would be late she was just going to spend the night, that she would see me tomorrow and for me to enjoy the food.
With nothing to do but eat my supper, I decided to take in a movie with my friend then we went to the local bar for a beer. I made my way home about midnight under a beautiful red and yellow colored full moon. After a cup of strong coffee left over from the morning, I decided to go to bed.
Sleeping badly I was awakened several times by the neighbors dogs baying and howling. The last time I awoke I couldn't seem to find the reason maybe it was the silence of the night. No barking not even the sound of traffic. Anyway whatever it was I was unable to really fall back asleep.
I was laying on my back staring at the ceiling when the wolf came into my room, jumping through the open window. There was blood covering its face and chest and I found myself watching as it licked at the blood that covered its mouth and nose.
I closed my eyes quickly as it turned and looked at me. Now I am not one to panic and really for some reason the wolf just didn't scare me, it was like I knew it wasn't going to hurt me. Now I'm not saying I wasn't afraid for then I would be lying. Who wouldn't be afraid if a wolf jumped into their bedroom? But I knew this wolf, how I didn't know for sure but had my suspensions'.
Being a Forrest Ranger and a student of studying wild animals I was able to recognize that this wolf was a European wolf, being that it was smaller and lighter boned than its American cousins. It was really a beautiful animal. I could hear its claws clicking on the wonder floor as it moved toward my bed, then nothing as it stepped onto the throw rug right next to me.
Not moving the wild and earthly scent of wolf almost overpowered me. I then did become afraid, what if I was wrong and this wolf was going to hurt me. Something warm and liquid slashed onto my shoulder. I then felt the sunlight of the breaking day hit my eyelids and I heard the wolf moan softly.
