HE PROMISED
the cold hard metal
slid easily in place
much easier
than she thought it would
his heat ran around
her fingers
coating the jewel
he had placed there
releasing
all of her hate
he promised her
everything
he promised her
the world
his words cut her
through to the heart
in one simple day
when he said it was
done
her tears
sat in her eyes
she wouldn't cry
not for another guy
not for this guy
for what he said
that day
no one would
ever hurt her
again
a week later
the news blared
her words repeated
he promised,
he promised!
the last words
she ever said

I thought that love
would wait for me,
when you went your separate way~
I knew your heart

Have you ever had
The sun shine down,
Yet upon your face

Have you ever walked
Along a sandy shore
That
You didn't love me then.
You'll never love me now.
Not even when I was there,
Today, another face in the crowd.
The one you

Do you know what I mean
When I say I love you
Or does it even matter at all?
It means that your the biggest part of my life
But
Can you hear the sound
The heart makes when it breaks?
One softly spoken goodbye
Is all that it takes
Can you feel the pain
That
