On a recent vacation we visited Mammoth Lakes in California, here are our top seven attractions in Mammoth Lakes:
MAMMOTH MOUNTAIN SKI AREA:
This is a lovely place with a variety of late spring, early summer terrain for first time beginners like myself or the more experienced like my family.
We spent a lovely day skiing surrounded by the superb scenery.
It has a lovely ski area, cross country ski area for the more daring, and a great snowboard ski area which is ideal for the children or bigger kids. A great family day well spent.
HOT CREEK:
What can I say, a lovely, peaceful, relaxing and worthwhile time spent in the heated springs of this picturesque fishing spot. Everyone was so friendly and helpful. Pure pleasure for adults and children alike.
SIERRA STAR GOLF CLUB:
This superb eighteen hole golf course has some lovely scenery. It has superb tree lined fairways, wonderful greens and a large beautiful selection of lakes and ponds throughout its six thousand, seven hundred and eight whole yard's of well kept and brilliantly maintained landscape. If golf's not your thing chuck the family on the course while you check out the club house, great drinks and reasonably priced. I must never drink in the sun, I must never drink in the sun it goes straight to my head -well that's what I told the family. A great day out enjoyed by all.
MONO LAKE:
This is a superb place lovely views and peace and quiet. Ideal for a picnic and some lovely walks.
DEVIL'S POSTPILE NATIONAL MONUMENT:
This part of the national park system is very reasonably priced. One of its many features is the unique basalt rock formations. The staff are very friendly and helpful. A very educational and enjoyable time was had by all the family.
MOUNTAIN BIKE PARK:
This is a very popular spot, a lovely day biking on Mammoth Mountain. You have a biking trail, a lovely park and a mountain biking trail. You can rent bikes and biking equipment really ideal for keeping fit and still enjoying the scenery. An ideal family day out and inexpensive.
CROWLEY LAKE:
This is a wonderful man made lake, just the spot to relax and have a few glasses of wine or a few beers but remember don't drink and drive! This is a lovely spot for trout fishing which the kids really enjoyed. Great fun but i didn't like the smell of fish on the drive back to the hotel!
WELL THAT WAS OUR TOUR OF MAMMOTH LAKES. WE MADE SOME GREAT FRIENDS AND LEARNT A LOT AND HAD A REALLY REMEMBERABLE VACATION. WE WILL BE HOLIDAYING THERE IN THE VERY NEAR FUTURE.
