Is life worth living?

that nine-year-old girl who takes care of her younger siblings because their parents are dead? Would you be in front of that person who carries an incurable disease and suffers daily? Would you be in front of that family who sleeps on the dirt-concrete with a leaking roof? Would your situation overshadow those Third World countries that are suffering from famine, diseases, persecution, genocide, and other horrible situations? Would you even be in the top million? Give it some thoughts and let it marinate.

We all have our miseries and they are universal with everyone; the struggles may be different but they are painful situations nonetheless. Thus, where would you fit in that line, considering how many people are struggling with life worldwide? This is not to downplay anybody's struggles; it is only to put it in greater context. Think about it.

Life is rapaciously cruel. It will eat away possessions and take away the most sacred things in one's life, especially through death. However, it doesn't mean that one must let it eat away at his/her self-esteem and self-worth. We are born to mourn, pain, suffer, and later recover. It may not be a full recovery, but the recovery has to take priority, because we must move forward and live life.

Life is a gift, so wrap it up and hold yours tightly. Live it! Embrace it! Love it! One doesn't need to love life entirely (I surely don't); however, love it to some capacity. It's rather appropriate to have discrepancies between life and self, for they are different. When speaking of life, one could have a love/hate relationship and question why some things occur. However, when speaking of self, one should always have love and should NEVER question that love toward self - even in the worst times.

If a person cannot face a mirror and find some inspiration and the reasons to live, then something is deeply wrong with oneself.

For inspiration, people usually utter that hackneyed phrase: "LIVE LIFE TO THE FULLEST." But can one really "live life to the fullest" if he or she has no wherewithal to do so? Of course not. Not everyone has that luxury; even those who have such luxury cannot live life to the fullest, because life does not allow one to capture that steady flow of fulfillment (that is, fulfillment regarding happiness). It is simply impossible. Therefore, live life as you see fit - in a way that will bring some form of comfort and contentment, with every awful and harmonious situation that life renders.

LIFE: Live It For Enjoyment, but Live It For Endurance. In other words, enjoy what life delivers you and endure the pain that it afflicts on you and yours - because it is inevitable. Cherish your blessings of living and breathing; and thank GOD that you have a body to reside in and have life, because its counterpart is death. Yield your emotions from making your mind go crazy, and do not yield to life's struggles; instead, fight them vigorously! Existence may be painfully troublesome, it may be a hurricane, but the winds will subdue with time.

In all, never let life dictate or question the love you have for yourself and what you are trying to achieve. Never let it harm your sense of worth and disturb your self-purpose that would cause self-annihilation. Life is a novel, so don't make yours a short story. Write the chapters, including the final chapter, and let God decide when to end your book with His epilogue.
