Runescape Guide To Making Money

There are 3 main ways to making money in Runescape. Those 3 ways are mining, smithing, and wood cutting. I will explain those 3 in the next section.

Mining

The best place to mine is the Al Kharid Mining pit. It is South of Lumbridge (across the bridge,) and costs 10 coins to get in. It has a ton of different ores, like copper, tin, silver, gold, coal, iron ,and even some mithril and adamant ores. In order to mine you need (a pickaxe a bronze pickaxe was given to you on tutorial island,) but if you lost that one or sold it for some reason, you can always pick a new bronze one up at the mining tutor west of Lumbridge in the swamp. As you level up you can get higher level pick axes from the Dwarven Mines north east of barbarian village (but remember the better the metal, the higher the price.)

LOW LEVEL MINERS (Lvls 1-14)

1)If you are a low level miner head over to Al Kharid and start mining copper and tin.

2)As you get full inventories head over to the bank (which is also in Al Kharid.) The bank is to the right (or east,) of the gate as you walk in. Store All your ores then head back and continue mining.

3)Since copper and tin aren't very pricey I would advise holding them, then smithing them at a furnace (which is also in Al kharid, it is to the right walking in of the bank or to the west.)

MEDIUM LEVEL MINERS (15 - 34)

1) Go to the Al Kharid mining pit (read above for directions.)

2) The best thing to mine would be iron. They sell for about a 100 gp on a good day in the Grand Exchange and are quick to mine. Stock up on them then sell if you wanna see huge profits (my opinion is to stock up and make steel bars once you have the correct stats which are 30 smithing and 35 mining (since you need to be able to mine coal.))

HIGH LEVEL MINERS (40 AND UP)

If you have this kind of level you can do pretty much anything you want mining adamant and mithril takes a lot of time. So I would advise mining coal since people like buying them in bulk (coal is worth 137 gp in the Grand Exchange.) But yet again, I would advise you if you have lvl 30 smithing save those and your iron because then you can smith steel bars which are worth 610 coins.

Smithing

You should start off by smithing bronze than iron (nothing much else to be said.) Once you have level 30 or above though your are in the money. Read below if you have level 30 smithing to begin making money.

LEVEL 35 miners or Richy Riches

If you stocked up on iron like I said than you were smart you are one step closer to making money. Now the slow way would be to mine coal then put it in your bank account. But if you have at least 5k you should invest it in coal. Buy as much of it as possible in the Grand Exchange. The trick here is that you already have the iron so that doesn't cost you anything. But coal cost about 137 gp. When you smith a steel bar (which requires lvl 30 smithing and 2 coal and 1 iron ores,) the value goes up almost twice. Do the math 137 x 2 is 267, so 2 coal ores cost 267 gp. Now if you smith those coal into steel the price soars up to 610 gp. That's a 228% price increase. As you keep getting money repeat this and you will continue to double your money. Do the same with higher level smithers buy coal and smith whatever (rune, adamant, or mithril) and you will continue to make your money double or even go up by 900% when you smith rune.

Wood Cutting

All you do is cut down the appropriate tree that corresponds to your level. Cut down and get a full inventory bank them. Then when you have a surplus sell em. Repeat your RICH!

Making money is very tedious at the beginning. But as your levels increase you can begin to hit it BIG.
