I must say I thoroughly enjoy the tabletop Role Playing Games, I love role playing I even went so far as to try to design my own once, however I lacked the dedication and or interest to complete it. An online game on the other hand is difficult to wear down. As much as one tries the constant updates to the game keeps one guessing, the enormous amount of human interaction keeps one on his feet, who knows when a player killer will choose them as their next target, who knows what skills you can unlock soon. How much revenue can you build virtually if you can find a system, how much will the shifty buyers market entice you will you gain or loose? An online game always has the visual and inter-actual advantage. What tabletop game do you know that you can watch like a movie and play with split second decisions that determine your virtual life or death? What tabletop game allows you to joke with your friend on the other side of the country while smacking each other around on the screen? We cannot forget the tabletops need for a good strategist as well as a quick one, the online realm still takes it away with real time, specific statistics and random critical hits and misses. An online game goes as far as you will let it go, until of course you reach the level cap, in which case you can start all over again. The online combatant also has the opportunity to wield the weapon of his choice and customize his armor according to his desires and whether he wants to risk defense for the sake of appearance. Online role players can also choose their very own interactive mission, and instead of rolling dice or drawing a chance card, must on his own or with the help of comrades solve puzzles and battle fierce monsters. Where on a tabletop game can you find a dungeon with treasures buried deep inside in the presence of some no doubt mostrous beast? In a short comparison where would you find the games ultimate weapon in a tabletop game, answer; in the stack of well shuffled cards, good luck. On the other hand when searching for said weapon in the online setting one must look for the deepest darkest cavern filled with furious monsters; and a maze of pathways, each going on quite a ways, and at the end of it all find a gigantic, and no doubt hungry beast who sees you as nothing more than a shiny dot of armor, or a tastey snack, well just as anyone would guess the ultimate weapon is in this things stomach; still better than the cards if you ask me. In conclusion, althogh I will always enjoy ripping into a virtual world and tearing some beast limb from limb I will always enjoy the tabletop games, but the virtually vibrant online world will continuously take me to another world.
