Poetry: The tragedy of love

by Cindy Bartalini

Created on: May 17, 2008

I still love you so passionately
Yet I really don't know why
I know I shouldn't feel this way
I wish this was just a lie.

How could you be this way towards me?
I know I did nothing wrong
This has made me change my views on you
This has made me extremely strong.

We had something very special
But since you couldn't control your temper
Everything we knew and had
has been completely changed forever.

You have your way of dealing
Becoming so careless and drunk
So when you're alone one day
You'll realize how low you have sunk.

I've tried to forget you
It still isn't working yet
But I know that forgetting me
Is something you'll always regret.

If one day you want to talk
And want to be with me again
I'll remember how you were so thoughtless
Forget it,
I won't even be your friend.
